| Since our inception, Lambda Phi Epsilon's goals have been to exemplify the highest standards of Academic Performance, Social Experience, Service to the Community, and most importantly Brotherhood among its members. Our brotherhood focuses on building the character and leadership of its members while providing services in the best interest of our community and university. By joining Lambda Phi Epsilon you will enter a brotherhood that is rich in tradition and ritual. Many of the people you meet during your time in college are people that you only talk to while you’re in college. Perhaps you’ll keep a few of those friends after college. However the bonds that are form in Lambda Phi Epsilon last a lifetime. The College Experience Many students find it difficult to adjust to college life. For most, it will be the first time away from family in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people. What Lambda Phi Epsilon provides is a family away from your family. Lambda Phi Epsilon seeks and develops well rounded individuals. As such, Academic achievement is a core value of Lambda Phi Epsilon. In order to help develop academic excellence, Lambda Phi Epsilon matches underclassman with upperclassman of the same major. In addition to that, “Study Hours” are hosted by the brothers where the brothers study with underclass man together every day. In addition to that, tutoring services are provided during study hours to any individual who requests it. Community Involvement Lambda Phi Epsilon’s National Philanthropy is the Asian American Donor Program (AADP) which is anon-profit organization whose goal is to save lives and to help promote awareness for leukemia and other blood disorders, whose patients require bone marrow transplants. For individuals who suffer from this, their best hope for matched donors are those within their Asian community. The more people that register, the better the chances of finding a match for those in need. In addition to this, Lambda Phi Epsilon has provided hundreds of hours of community service and has collected hundreds of dollars every year. Since its inception at St. John’s University, the chapter continues its tradition of service and it’s reputation as one of the premier service organizations. Alumni Network Lambda Phi Epsilon furthermore has a strong alumni network, both locally and on the nation al and international levels. Recently, the National Council of Lambda Phi Epsilon have compiled an alumni list with job descriptions and telephone numbers for actives to contact at their convenience. This list, as well as the many driven people you will meet, is a valuable networking tool. In addition to that, networking and brotherhood events are held every year in which the older brothers make connections with the next generation, providing value advice, help and most importantly their brotherhood. |
